Getting Started

1.Install the extension (link above)

2.Get your API key from Settings → API Access

3.Click extension icon → Options → Paste API key

Complete Guide

Quick Start (2 minutes)

Install Extension - Load in Chrome and click the NoteSkrib icon

Configure API Key - Click Options, paste API key, Save Settings

Test - Visit any website, select text, click "Send Now"

Features & Usage

Save Selected Text

1. Visit any website
2. Select any text (at least 10 characters)
3. A floating menu will appear with "Add to Draft" and "Send Now" options
4. Click "Send Now"
✓ You should see: "Note saved to your inbox!"

Result: Text is saved and viewable at https://noteskrib.com/notes

Save Images

1. Visit any website with images
2. Right-click on any image
3. Select "Save to NoteSkrib" → "Save image"
✓ You should see: "Image saved to inbox!"

Result: Image is saved as a visual note

Draft Collection System

1. Visit any website and select some text
2. Click "Add to Draft" in the floating menu
3. Select more text on the same or different page
4. Click "Add to Draft" again
5. Right-click anywhere → "Save to NoteSkrib" → "Open Draft"
6. A draft editor modal will open showing all collected text blocks
7. Add a title (optional) and click "Send this to your NoteSkrib"
✓ You should see "✓ Saved!" and modal closes

Result: All text blocks merged into a single note

Clip Entire Page

1. Visit any article or blog post
2. Right-click anywhere on the page
3. Select "Save to NoteSkrib" → "Clip entire page"
✓ You should see a success notification

Result: Main content extracted and saved as a note

Save YouTube Videos

1. Visit any YouTube video
2. Right-click anywhere on the page
3. Select "Save to NoteSkrib" → "Save video"
✓ You should see a success notification

Result: Video info (title, URL, thumbnail) saved

Extension Popup Quick-Save

1. Click the NoteSkrib extension icon in the toolbar
2. The popup shows a quick-save form with title, content, tags, category, and color fields
3. Fill in the form and click "Save Note"
✓ You should see a success message

Result: Note is saved and appears in your NoteSkrib account

Privacy & Permissions

The extension requests:

activeTab: Read content when you explicitly use the extension
contextMenus: Add right-click menu options
storage: Store API key locally (never sent to third parties)
notifications: Show success/error notifications

Data Privacy:

✓ API key stored locally in Chrome's secure storage

✓ Content sent to NoteSkrib only when you explicitly save

✓ No tracking or analytics

✓ No data collected without your action

Troubleshooting

"Extension context invalidated" error

This happens if the extension was updated while the page was open

Solution: Reload the page (notification will appear with reload button)

Floating button doesn't appear

• Make sure you've selected at least 10 characters of text
• Try reloading the page
• Check that the extension is enabled

"API key not configured" error

• Go to extension Options and enter the API key
• Make sure you clicked "Save Settings"
